Keep the 940 family separate from the 945 and identify the handle setup.
Before matching a part
- Record the complete model marking, generation and version.
- Note whether the handle, liners or existing hardware have been changed.
- Compare the dimensions required for the specific component.
- Check what the selected retail package actually includes.

How we describe compatibility
A supplier-listed application is a claim to investigate. It is kept separate from measured dimensions, physical installation and functional verification. We do not infer fit from a photograph.
Understand the evidenceA factory reference point: the green aluminum 940
The selected configuration on Benchmade’s 940 page lists a green 6061-T6 aluminum handle, an AXIS lock and a standard three-hole clip. The same page links several other Osborne handle options. Record the complete model and handle construction before comparing hardware.
| Model on the selected page | 940 |
|---|---|
| Handle material listed | 6061-T6 aluminum |
| Lock listed | AXIS |
| Clip style listed | Standard three-hole |

Questions for an Osborne hardware listing
Which complete model suffix and handle setup does it name? Does it distinguish clip hardware from body, spacer and pivot hardware? A three-hole description alone does not supply hole spacing, thread dimensions or screw length. Compare each component separately, and keep the 945 outside the fitment claim unless there is specific supporting evidence.
